Welcome!

Hello to all my fellow diabetic and nondiabetic inhabitants of this earth. My name is Abby, I’m a 24-year-old Vancouver native currently living in Toronto, Canada. I’m a musician, health enthusiast and lover of all things chocolate.

 

This website is a personal projection for my constant thirst for learning new and better ways to live as a type 1 diabetic. Being chronically ill has the potential to be chronically shitty, but it doesn’t have to be. Over the past 7 years of having diabetes, I’ve learned a lot about how to harmoniously coexist (for the most part) with the beast it can sometimes prove to be. I know that my blood sugar will never be perfect all the time, but knowing that I have the ability to keep it within my comfortable range, and still live a fulfilling, non-restrictive life, is empowering to me. The reason I care so much about maintaining the best blood sugar I can is because my ultimate goal is to be super old and wrinkly and not have any complications. As someone who self-identifies as a whole foody, I found myself always turning to packaged protein bars when I was on the go and in need to an extra protein boost. 

This prompted me to make my own protein bars!! So many of the ones on the shelf are filled with crappy additives and preservatives, they almost always gave me a tummy ache and left me feeling sub par later in the day. 

These ones I've created are actually GUT-HEALING!! So no tummy aches here!

These are some of the TASTIEST treats I've ever made. Before you continue reading you should know that these are deep fried and not super healthy!!! They are however, very good on the blood sugar levels and will not give you a crazy spike like most store bought pakoras.

These are great if you're having company over or if you just want to treat yourself with something delicious and cheap!
